Here's something new... That's my first thought as I listen to the first track of Paramore's debut album
'All We Know Is Falling'. Certainly doesn't sound bad; and this singers voice... how old is she? She sounds
pretty young and it turns out I'm right, only 16 years old. But man, such an amazing vocal power; finally...
a new born female rock singer! This once again shows that age isn't an issue in music; people putting a band
down for something like that should be completely and totally ignored. Anyway, this four piece band comes
from Franklin, Tennessee and has only been around for a short while. After recording their first demo,
they immediately had several record labels eager to sign them, but they chose Fueled by Ramen. With
some of their favourite bands signed to this label they knew they made the right decision. Fueled by
Ramen's John Janick felt that he just had to bring out the Paramore record, he was just bedazzled after
he saw and met them for the first time. This sounds like an ideal combination to me.
'All We Know Is Falling' was recorded with the expert help of producers James Wisner (Dashboard
Confessional, Further Seems Forever, Underoath) and Mike Green (Yellowcard, Black Maria).
Paramore bring us a powerful indie rock album, which will gain a lot of admiration by a
lot of different people. Even though it absolutely isn't my kind of music, I have a lot of respect for this band.
It's not just that singer Hayley Williams is so young and has such a great voice; it's the clever way these songs
are put together. I can't write a bad thing about their music, but like I said... it's not my kind of music, so
I do have to say after a few tracks I do lose interest. But indie rock lovers, no wait... actually anybody interested
in rock, punk rock, emo, indie or whatever, please listen to this record, it is awesome.
